Tebogo Ramontja

Director and Chairman Designate, MSc (Trinity College Dublin), BCom Hons, LLB, BCom (Wits)

Tebogo serves as director and head of the firm’s insurance, risk and commercial litigation practice, and is the chairman designate of NLHS. He brings a multidisciplinary background in law, insurance and financial risk management and is recognised for integrating legal analysis with operational, financial and reputational risk considerations. His practice encompasses commercial litigation, insurance and liability disputes, regulatory compliance and mineral and energy matters; he advises clients on complex disputes, governance‑sensitive issues and procurement‑related problems. Before joining NLHS in 2026 he founded and led a risk advisory firm, represented clients in high‑stakes litigation and served as a commercial legal adviser at First National Bank. He previously practised as an associate attorney and candidate attorney at a Johannesburg firm and worked on mining and environmental mediation projects. Tebogo is admitted to practise in the High Court of South Africa and is a member of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa. He holds an MSc in Financial Risk Management from Trinity College Dublin, a BCom Honours in Insurance and Risk Management from the University of the Witwatersrand and LLB and BCom degrees from the same university. Clients appreciate his strategic insight, his ability to balance commercial realities with legal rigour and his commitment to achieving effective outcomes in contentious and advisory matters.

Rowan - Director

Rowan Stafford

Director, Attorney (BCom, LLB, LLM Rhodes) FPSA®

Rowan holds a BCom and LLB from Rhodes University, as well as a Master of Laws (cum laude) from Rhodes. He is also a Certified Fiduciary Practitioner of South Africa (FPSA®). With over 14 years of legal experience, he has developed a robust commercial and corporate law practice, known for delivering tailored and personable legal solutions. He began his career at Eversheds Sutherland, South Africa, where he advanced to senior associate and specialised in corporate commercial law, tax, trusts, and mergers and acquisitions. He later served as group legal counsel for one of the firm’s largest multinational clients.

Presently, Rowan leads NLHS Inc.’s trust law and corporate commercial law practices, focusing on commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and company and trust registration and governance. He also advises on cross-border and structured trade and commodity finance, and regularly assists clients with dispute resolution matters. His extensive knowledge, proven track record, and commitment to delivering practical solutions make him a trusted advisor across various industries.

Gareth Harrison

Gareth is a skilled attorney who specialises in real estate law and debt collection, with a particular focus on commercial litigation, rental collection, and commercial evictions. He diligently ensures his clients’ rights are protected and represented with integrity.

With extensive experience in magistrate courts throughout Gauteng and specialised expertise in the High Court’s online procedures, he effectively delivers the relief his clients seek.

Matthew Nofal

Candidate Attorney, LLB (UNISA)

Matthew is a director of NLHS with an LLB from the University of South Africa. He plays a pivotal role in the firm’s property practice, overseeing property transfers and conveyancing processes in close collaboration with consultant Sherene Nel. He is finalising his conveyancing qualification and has built his practice around delivering efficient and precise transfer services for both residential and commercial transactions. Matthew’s experience also extends to general corporate and commercial work. Clients value his meticulous attention to detail, his practical understanding of property law and his commitment to building long‑term relationships.

Sherene Nel

Consultant, Notary and Conveyancer

Sherene is a consultant to NLHS and an admitted attorney, notary and conveyancer who has assimilated a wealth of knowledge and experience over more than a decade in practice. She acts as a trusted adviser to the firm. Sherene’s work spans conveyancing, notarial services and broader property‑law matters; her inherent business acumen and practical approach have benefited the firm and its clients alike. She serves on professional teams for a range of housing development projects and dedicates significant time to ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and compliantly. Her previous experience includes tenure as an attorney and conveyancer at Kim Warren Inc and as a candidate attorney at Van der Meer & Schoonbee, and she has been admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of Victoria, Melbourne. Sherene’s passion for her work is evident in her day‑to‑day administration and the personalised care she brings to every instruction.
